TEXAS OFFICE OF COURT ADMINISTRATION COURT PERSONNEL WORKLOAD ANALYSIS

2024

MAKE A DIFFERENCE

The Texas Office of Court Administration is contracting with the Public Policy Research Institute at Texas A&M University (PPRI) to perform a multifaceted analysis of staffing levels in Texas courts and clerk’s offices.

This effort will use a mix of data collection and data analysis strategies centered on identifying current staffing levels, develop recommended staffing levels, and associated salary ranges for staff supporting Texas courts and clerk’s offices.

To achieve this, we will develop a database of all court and clerk personnel in Texas. In addition, we will gather feedback from the court and clerk personnel through an online survey as well as interviews. The survey and interviews will give us insight into the challenges court personnel face in recruiting and retaining employees. Finally, we will develop a formula which predicts the optimal staffing levels for each court and clerk’s office.
