Nestled within the heart of Aggieland, PPRI offers undergraduate and graduate students hands-on research opportunities that bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world application.
Funded by the Administration for Community Living (ACL) under the Innovations in Nutrition (INNU) grant umbrella, this research explores the complex factors influencing participation in congregate meal programs for older adults across Texas. These programs, which offer nutritious meals in community settings, are vital for promoting food security, social connection, and independence among aging populations.
“This is not just another program,” one participant shared. “TYAN allows us to build core skills in youth development and guide youth in their own power.”
The Public Policy Research Institute (PPRI) at Texas A&M University has been awarded the Michael K. Moore Award for Research and Writing in the Area of Indigent Defense by the State Bar of Texas.
