Ms. Peairson joined PPRI in 2009 and has had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including international projects on children with disabilities and women/girls with disabilities. In addition, she has collaborated on projects related to school discipline, developmental education, adult basic education, and birth defects. Her current duties at PPRI include implementing the Texas Youth Tobacco Survey and the Texas School Survey of Drug and Alcohol Use, two ongoing assessments of students’ self-reported substance use and health-related behaviors for the Texas Department of State Health Services. She shares responsibility for recruiting over 800 schools across the state of Texas and managing the collection of 75,000 surveys among students in grades six through twelve on a biennial basis.
