Methodology: Policy Analysis and Needs Assessment

The purpose of this project was assisting area agencies on aging with developing comprehensive plans for better preparing their communities for aging baby boomers. Concept mapping software developed by Cornell University was used for facilitating the planning process and the creation of local action plans. Relevant issues at the local, state, and national levels were also identified.

Methodology: Survey Research

PPRI conducted a telephone survey with populations of people over the age of 50 in Cleveland, Ohio, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Phoenix, Arizona. The purpose of the survey was to assess opinions of an AARP-sponsored health and wellness event and their willingness to pay to attend the event. A total of 3,000 interviews were conducted before and after the event.
